National Championship Air Races to host a special
"REMEMBERING RENO" Display this year!

The National Championship Air Races (RARA) and the National Aviation Heritage Invitational (NAHI) announce today that the traditional NAHI vintage aircraft competition, which has been held at the Reno Air Races since 1999, will be suspended for 2023. Considering the recent announcement that 2023 will be the last year for the National Championship Air Races at Stead Field, both organizations agreed that the 2023 Heritage Aircraft display should be expanded to allow participation by a wider variety of vintage aircraft and aircraft which have raced at Reno over the years. Tony Logoteta, COO of RARA, stated "we would like to expand the scope of the 2023 Heritage Aircraft display to become a showcase of our 60-year history. We would like to invite former racers and vintage aircraft which have been flying within the past 60 years to come to Reno to be part of our REMEMBERING RENO Display which will highlight our rich aviation history.

Ken Perich, Executive Director of the National Aviation Heritage Invitational (NAHI), stated "we support RARA's decision to expand the scope of their 2023 Heritage Aircraft display to include former racers and a wider variety of vintage aircraft. NAHI will not be holding their formal judging of vintage aircraft in 2023, as they have done on the Reno ramp since 1999, so that RARA can host their REMBERING RENO display. This focus will provide the opportunity for fans to view a variety of former racers and vintage aircraft which represent a cross-section of the 60 years of aviation history which was made at the Reno Air Races. NAHI has been a partner of the National Championship Air Races for over a quarter of a century and we hope to continue this relationship when a new home for the air races is selected."
